By donating your phone to the Phone For Heroes appeal you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.


1.Donated mobile phones cannot be returned to you in any circumstances.
2.The Envelope must be used for mobile phones only.
3.Before you donate your mobile phone please:
•Remove all phone locks that require a pin code.
•Remove the SIM card and all Data.
•Cancel any airtime or other contract relating to the mobile phone.
Neither ITL nor the Charity will accept any liability or responsibility for any losses, call costs, costs, charges or other expenses whatsoever arising directly or indirectly:


i.as a result of your failure to comply with the provisions of this clause and any uncancelled airtime or contract charges or liabilities remain your sole liability and you hereby agree to indemnify ITL and the Charity in respect thereof; and

ii.in relation to the security, protection, confidentiality, use or use by others of Data whether left on your mobile phone in contravention of this clause or otherwise

4.ITL ensures that all donated mobile phones will, wherever possible, be reused in accordance with the WEEE Directive.

5.You warrant that you are at least 18 years old when you donate a mobile phone to the Appeal or, if you are under 18 years of age, that you have obtained your parent’s or guardian’s consent to donate your mobile phone to the Appeal.

6.You warrant that you own all rights, title and interest in any mobile phone(s) that you donate to the Appeal.

7.You and your parents or guardians release ITL and the Charity from any liabilities or claims that may arise if you donate a mobile phone to the Appeal in breach of the warranties set out in clauses 5 and 6.

8.A mobile phone which is deemed unusable by ITL will be a handset which in ITL’s opinion has no commercial value after processing. In the case of such donated mobile phones the Charity will not receive a payment and ITL will recycle the mobile phone responsibly.

9.Mobile phones that are water damaged, have no ability to power on or to retain a charge, are in a state of disrepair, have damaged LCD screens, are aesthetically damaged or have any other defects which have an impact on their ability to be reused or their commercial value after processing will be accessed individually to see whether they are deemed totally unusable. 

10.All analogue phones are deemed as unusable and ITL will recycle them responsibly.

11.No responsibility will be accepted for mobile phones lost, damaged or delayed in the post.

12.The ITL recommends that only one mobile phone is returned in an Envelope.

13.ITL will pay for postage of your donated mobile phone provided it is sent in an Envelope. 

14.Please note:
              •ITL is not a not for profit organisation or a charity.
              •ITL through the Appeal is supporting the charity Help for Heroes, charity number 1120920.
              •For every reusable and recycled phone Help for Heroes will receive 60% of any proceeds after allowing for ancillary expenses and third party costs such as collection and delivery expenses.
              •Collection, delivery and ancillary expenses include manufacturing postal bags, obtaining all requisite postal licences, the distribution and collection of postal bags, the labour costs and heating and lighting expenses associated with packing and unpacking the mobile phones and testing them prior to resale, the cost of all packaging materials and advertising.
              •Help for Heroes Trading Limited Gift Aids all its taxable profits to Help for Heroes (Registered Charity Number 1120920).
You should print and keep a copy of these Terms and Conditions and the terms of use for future reference.
